    Meet Doug

    Doug Carr grew up in a working-class Fairfield family. His parents came to the United States from Scotland, and his father served 21 years in the military before retiring from Travis Air Force Base.

    Doug spent two decades in the construction and painting trades and was a member of the International Union of Painters and Tapers (IUPAT) and SEIU. He then spent 20 years in the mental health field as a Licensed Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor, working to make sure no one in Solano County gets left behind.

    He led the nonprofit Healthy Partnerships as executive director and served as board treasurer for A.K. Bean, a nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment program. District 3 voters elected him to the City Council in 2022.

      Working with the council and city staff, Doug helped cut the city's budget deficit from $20 million to $11 million. He'll keep Fairfield on a stronger financial path.

    • Tackling homelessness

      Cleaning up troubled areas in District 3 and bringing supportive housing for people living with mental health challenges, backed by 20 years of clinical experience.

    • Thriving local business

      Helping bring new businesses to the Travis Boulevard and Holiday Lane corridor and making District 3 a place people want to shop and invest.

    • Parks and youth sports

      Building on the Octo Park soccer field project with more fields for Fairfield families and a long-term vision for a soccer stadium.
